New Hall Vineyards

55BC: The first grape vines were planted in England by the Romans.

New Hall Vineyards is a family run English Wine Producer with over 100 acres of vines.  It was first established by the Greenwood family,  in the small Essex village of Purleigh in 1969 and is one of the oldest and largest English Vineyards in the Country.   The grape vines grown at New Hall were carefully selected and have been planted only 12m to 24m above sea level on well-sheltered, southern facing slopes of a shallow valley.  Over the years this site has proven itself to be an almost ideal place for the growing of vines in England, producing above average crops of high quality grapes with naturally high sugars each year.
