Cipresseto is a light pink in colour. The nose offers fresh notes of raspberries and wild strawberries as its aromatic profile. The palate is soft, full, harmonious, and with a long a fruit finish and aftertaste.

The ancient town of Cortona rises on a high hill not far from the cities of Siena and Perugia. On one side the wide plain, on the other side the hill and its hamlet. This is the view which can be enjoyed from the Santa Cristina cellars, constructed in 2006 to confirm and renew the tradition of the wine of the same name, first produced in the year 1946.

Over time, Santa Cristina has become a reference point for connoisseurs, and not merely these consumers, thanks a constant commitment to high quality. The care and attention always given to both the vineyard work and the work in the cellar have been the stimulus for constant innovation and for measuring professional work and capacities with both native and international grape varieties. The result has been the creation of a family of wines, all different from one another but distinguished by the same artisan style, fruit of the indissoluble link between the vineyard, the terroir, and human contributions and input

Cipressseto is a delicate and balanced rosé wine which resembles the sweet hillsides of Tuscany, at times decorated with stately rows of cypresses. Its name celebrates Tuscany and its labels is a homage to the region.

The 2018 vintage was distinguished by a slight delay in vine development which was then recovered during the phase of bud break. The successive phase of vegetative growth, flowering and bud set, were regular in nature, assisted by mild temperatures and by the abundant supply of ground water in the soil created by a rather rainy spring. Frequent rainfall up until the first days of July were followed by sunny weather, without, however, temperature peaks, up until mid-August. The last half of the month was characterized by occasional rain which fell during mostly fine weather and by temperatures which rose once again, starting in September.
To best conserve freshness and fragrance in the grapes, the picking of the Sangiovese, Cabernet, and Syrah crop began around August 20th and terminated in mid-September.

The harvested grapes were destemmed and then given a very soft pressing. The must was then chilled to a temperature of 50° Fahrenheit (10° centigrade) to assist a natural static settling of impurities. After 48 hours it went into stainless steel tanks where it fermented at a temperature held to a maximum of 59° Fahrenheit (15° centigrade) to best maintain the wine’s aromatic characteristics. The preparation of the wine for bottling in small lots assisted in obtaining and maintaining a rosé which was always crisp and perfumed.
