PRODUCER
The Valduga family emigrated from Italy to Brazil in 1875 and since then has been producing wine: first for their own consumption, then in bulk, and now as one of the country’s leading producers of premium bottled wine. Despite the growth of the business, the family remains involved in every aspect of the production, even winery design. As Brazil starts to make waves on the export market, Casa Valduga is one of the pioneering producers setting the pace.
VINEYARD
Grapes were grown in the Encruzilhada do Sul region in the Serra do Sudeste. The region is located at 420 meters above sea level, with granite and sedimentary soils. The grapes were hand-harvested and then underwent a further selection in the winery.
WINERY
The grapes were destemmed, crushed and cold-macerated for forty- eight hours. Fermentation was carried out at 24-25°C in stainless steel tanks. The wine was matured in second-use French oak for eight months and kept in bottle for another three months before release.
