PRODUCER
Château Puy-Blanquet is a private estate of twenty hectares, Chateau Puy Blanquet is owned by the Jacquet family. located in Saint-Etienne de Lisse, in the eastern segment of the Saint- Emilion appellation. The Jacquet family estate is managed by Pierre Meunier, who was trained by Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix, with a real respect for tradition and quality. Soils are ploughed in order to ensure deeper root systems; green harvest, leaf-cropping, and harvests are done by hand. Thermo-regulated concrete tanks ensure well-controlled fermentations.

VINEYARD
The 20 hectare, Right Bank vineyard of Chateau Puy Blanquet is planted to 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Located in the commune of Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse, in the eastern portion of Saint Emilion appellation, here you are not quite at the eastern edge of Saint Emilion.
The vineyards are planted on chalky clay soil, and are traditionally ploughed and tended, with green harvests, leaf thinning and picking all done by hand.

Overlooking the Dordogne valley in a village two miles east of Saint-Émilion, this pretty vineyard is planted on a clay-limestone slope thanks to which the northern and eastern parcels enjoy perfect morning sunshine. Château Puy-Blanquet was known as one of the best Saint-Émilion Grand Crus as early as the 19th century, and was awarded a part of the collective gold medal bestowed upon a selection of Saint-Émilion chateaux at the Paris Exposition of 1889.

WINERY
The wine was fermented in temperature-controlled tanks, then aged for six months in second-fill barrels, and six months further in tank before bottling.  Soils are ploughed in order to ensure deeper root systems; green harvest, leaf-cropping, and harvests are done by hand. Thermo-regulated concrete tanks ensure well-controlled fermentations.

IN THE WINERY
The Technical Director and his team of experienced cellar workers follow a time-honored approach. As the quality of the grapes is established in the vineyard and during the harvest, the objective in the cellars is to produce wines that express a sense of place, that are pure, honest, balanced, complex and, above all, pleasurable to drink.

Vinification and aging are deftly tailored to the specific characteristics of each parcel in order to best preserve the character of the fruit and the nuances of each block.  The cellar master manages the aging to harmoniously integrate the characteristics of each barrel with every individual lot.
