TASTING NOTES
Characteristic aromas of blackberry, coriander and lilac mingle with pine bark and wet leaves. The palate has real life and presence, as well as particularly elegant balance for this grape variety.

PRODUCER
In 1998, Familia Martínez Bujanda decided to look for somewhere to build a new bodega. They settled on the best, highest-altitude area of La Mancha DO, and acquired a 1000 hectare estate, with 421 hectares under vine. Named after the old vines already growing there, Finca Antigua combines the latest technology and time-honoured winemaking traditions with stunning results.
VINEYARD
The Finca Antigua vineyard is located at 900 metres above sea level, providing cool nights to temper the hot summer days. Soil is loamy, with a high limestone content giving extra definition to the wines. The vineyard is sub-divided into thirty plots, each planted to the most suitable variety. The Petit Verdot comes from a twenty-hectare parcel called El Granero, and was harvested in the second week of October.
WINERY
The must was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with a twenty-five day maceration. The wine was aged for eight months in French oak barrels.
