TASTING NOTES
Aromas of preserved red fruit, yoghurt, dried figs, vanilla, toffee and white chocolate. Very elegant contribution from the barrel-ageing with a nice balance between fruit and oak. Elegant, concentrated and long in the mouth.

PRODUCER
In 1998, Familia Martínez Bujanda decided to look for somewhere to build a new bodega. They settled on the best, highest-altitude area of La Mancha DO, and acquired a 1000 hectare estate, with 421 hectares under vine. Named after the old vines already growing there, Finca Antigua combines the latest technology and time-honoured winemaking traditions with stunning results.
VINEYARD
The Finca Antigua vineyard is located at 900 metres above sea level, providing cool nights to temper the hot summer days. Soil is loamy, with a high limestone content giving extra definition to the wines. The vineyard is sub-divided into thirty plots, each planted to the most suitable variety. The Tempranillo comes from a parcel called Escalerillas, planted in 1990, and picked in the second week of September.
WINERY
The must was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with a nineteen-day maceration. The wine was aged for eight months in American oak barrels.
