TASTING NOTES
Sophisticated aromas of raspberry, cherry and Provençal herbs lead to a smooth, medium-full palate with notes of chocolate and an appetising dry finish.
PRODUCER
In 1888, in the picturesque Guenoc Valley sixty miles north of San Francisco, the famous actress Lillie Langtry bought a wine estate. Her substantial Langtry Estate survives to this day, and supplies the Guenoc wines, which are vinified here, with the core of the blends each year. Winemaker Eric Stine encountered the European classics in his native Michigan before a career beckoned in California, and the Guenoc range shows a lightness of touch and sense of finesse which reflects this experience.
VINEYARD
Sourced from around California, with soils ranging from rocky volcanic to mountain valleys lined with gravelly riverbeds. The combination of these sites allows a complex, balanced blend to be assembled.
WINERY
The wine underwent a traditional fermentation, and was then aged for six months in French oak barrels with twenty percent new wood.
