TASTING NOTES
A fresh, grassy nose is followed by a palate full of green apple and citrus fruit, and even a touch of blackcurrant bud. Dry yet generous, with a long, crisp finish.
PRODUCER
Over the last forty years, Guy Allion has grown this traditional family estate from six hectares to twenty-seven; his son Cédric has worked alongside him since 1999. Careful viticulture is the obsession here, delivering not just expressive Sauvignon, but pure Pinot Noir and ripe Malbec too – no mean feat in Touraine!
VINEYARD
The vineyard occupies slopes on the right bank of the River Cher, well exposed to the southwest and southeast. Soils vary between clay- limestone and shallow flinty clay, with good drainage. Vineyard treatments are kept to a minimum, in line with the Terra Vitis code of practice.
WINERY
The grapes were gently pressed and the juice fermented in temperature- controlled tanks, followed by several months on lees before bottling.
