TASTING NOTES
A delightful, graceful Chambolle that combines succulent blueberry and redcurrant fruit with the appellation’s typical scent of jasmine and incense. Medium-bodied, with a fluid, silky texture, this is an elegant classic.
PRODUCER
Occupying an impressive nineteenth-century building in Savigny-Lès- Beaune, Henri de Villamont is a medium-sized producer that combines an enviable domaine (they are particularly strong in Chambolle-Musigny) with a meticulously sourced négociant range. The cuverie was updated with the latest equipment less than ten years ago, and underneath there is ample storage for barrels in the beautiful double-height cellar. These features give the winemaker flexibility and precision, resulting in excellent expression of the various terroirs on offer, which include some particularly well-sited vineyards.
VINEYARD
These vines are situated on clay-limestone soil near the border with Morey-Saint-Denis, and were hand-harvested on September 25th.
WINERY
The must fermented for thirty days at 10-35oC in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine was then aged for thirteen months in barrel, with thirty-five percent new wood.
