PRODUCER
In 1885, the Buenos Aires to Mendoza railway opened, cementing the significance of this emerging wine-growing region high in the Andean foothills. Ten years later, Edmund Norton planted the first vines in Mendoza's Lujan de Cuyo district. At 900-1100 metres, the altitude moderates the temperature, causing an extended ripening season and also expose the vines to more ultraviolet light, which encourages the development of colour and tannin in the black-skinned varieties. The result is whites packed with vibrant flavour and good natural acidity and well-structured, food-friendly reds.

VINEYARD
Perched at 1,100m above sea level, this vineyard in the region of Luján de Cuyo is unusual due to its sheer size: 1,045 cultivable hectares, of which 450 are planted with all the varieties of grape that are produced in the winery and have an average age of 17 years old. The soil is mostly alluvial with a preponderance of sand and stones.

WINERY
Bodega Norton has five vineyards spread over the main terroirs of the province of Mendoza, foothills of the Andes Mountains, all of them within a privileged zone known as the First Zone for the quality of its grapes. It is not just geographical location that influences the quality of our wines, but the age of our vines. Their average age is around 30 years, but we also have a large number of hectares planted with more than 80-year-old.
