TASTING NOTES
Created by the interaction between the experience of the Antinori family and the demonstrated high viticultural quality of a territory, Franciacorta, the “Classics”- Marchese Antinori Cuvée Royale, Rosé, and Blanc de blancs - are produced from a selection of Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, and Pinot Bianco grapes.
A light yellow in color with a creamy bubbling and an elegant and persistent sparkle. The aromas recall white peaches, bread crusts, and yeast. The notable balance and liveliness are typical of a well made Brut.

FOOD PAIRING
Matches with food and occasions for drinking: The wine’s fruity and floral fragrance make it particularly good as an aperitif or with fish, vegetable, and white meat hors d’oeuvres.

PRODUCER
The Antinori family have been producing wine in Tuscany for six centu- ries, and exporting it for four. The purchase of the Tignanello estate in 1900 marked the beginning of a remarkable period of expansion which shows no signs of abating. Through judicious acquisition of vineyards and an uncanny knack for developing iconic wines, Antinori has become Tuscany’s – arguably Italy’s – pre-eminent wine producer, with an impor- tant presence in Piedmont, Lombardy, Umbria and Puglia as well as their Tuscan heartland.

VINEYARD
The Montenisa estate is located around the hamlet of Calino, near Lake Iseo in the heart of the Franciacorta appellation. The vineyards surrounding the proprietary villa of the Maggi family have been the heart of the production of Marchese Antinori Franciacorta since 1999.

The estate is located in the heart of the Franciacorta production zone around the centuries-old hamlet of Calino. The vine has always been cultivated in this area of important wines. Some in fact maintain that “Franciacorta” has its origin in the phrase “Petite France”, an affectionate name given to it by Charlemagne.

WINERY
The must was fermented in stainless steel tanks. The second fermentation took place in bottle and the wine remained on its lees for 36 months before dégorgement.

Antinori Tenuta Montenisa Cuvée Royale Franciacorta Sparkling
ReviewerJames Suckling, / From jamessuckling.com, / Date07 Mar 2021
A delightful sparkling Italian, suggesting notes of citrus, bread dough and apricot flan. The bubbles are quite fine and the palate shows a creamy and delicious texture, punctuated by bright acidity. Drink now. Score - 91. (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, Nov. 7, 2019)

Here is a new wine from the Antinori family. The NV Franciacorta Cuvée Royale Brut Marchese Antinori Tenuta Montenisa is a medium-weight sparkling wine with a round bouquet. You'll recognize peach, baked bread and blanched almond. These heavier aromas give the wine a broad, full-spectrum appeal. It exhibits medium complexity and is a good choice for near or medium-term drinking.
