PRODUCER
Montalto is a family-run winery in the west of Sicily. The family coat of arms and the sun that appears on the bottle signify Sicilian warmth and family pride.
VINEYARD
Organically grown grapes were cultivated at 400 metres above sea level in the area of Salaparuta in the west of Sicily. The soil is a mixture of clayey and richer soils and the climate is Mediterranean with little rain. The vineyard is free from pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers.
WINERY
Grapes were destemmed and crushed and transferred to stainless steel tanks for a twelve-day fermentation. The juice remained on its lees for eight weeks, with lees stirring twice a week throughout.
