PRODUCER
The Muré family have been making wine in the southerly Rouffach region since the end of the Thirty Years War in 1648; René is the eleventh generation in charge, and farms both the original holdings and the Clos St Landelin, a thirteen-hectare plot within the Grand Cru Vorbourg bought by his grandfather in 1935.
VINEYARD
The grapes for this wine come from clay-limestone vineyards in the Rouffach area of southern Alsace; the vines average thirty-five years old.
WINERY
The juice was fermented slowly and matured on fine lees.
PRESS
“Light-bodied and elegant, this fresh Pinot Gris enlivens the flavors of kumquat, stone, melon and sliced almond with a zesty streak of acidity. Offers a lightly spiced, tangy finish.” – 90 points, Wine Spectator, November 2015
