TASTING NOTES
Grenache by any other name, Cannonau here gives a typical rendition of peppery summer-berry fruit, full to begin with, then nicely dry on the finish.

PRODUCER
Sardinia’s mixture of grapes matches its location: as well as sharing the Vermentino with Corsica, Provence and western Italy, it has also received considerable input from Spain, in the form of Cannonau (Grenache), Bovale (Graciano) and Carignano. Pala capture this diversity, offering wines of modern purity with genuine Sardinian style.
VINEYARD
Grapes are sourced from two of Pala’s vineyards, at 150-180 meters above sea level. The vines are low espalier trained and twenty-five years old on average.
WINERY
The grapes are crushed and given 6-7 days’ cold maceration before temperature-controlled fermentation with selected yeasts. The wine is aged in a mix of cement and stainless steel for eight months, and spends a further couple of months in bottle prior to release.
