PRODUCER
Wine production has been in the Ceci family since the 1940s when Umberto Ceci bought vineyards in San Paolo di Jesi in order to produce Verdicchio. In the 1950s, Amato, Umberto’s son, and his wife increased production by acquiring new land and bottling their own wines. In 1992 Amato’s son Maurizio and his wife Serenella invested in a modern winery, which they called Vignamato, with the objective of producing high- quality wines, both white and red. Today the family’s commitment to their business continues, with Umberto’s great-grandchildren, Alessandra and Andrea, also involved in wine production.
VINEYARD
The 32-year-old vines lie in the hills on the east coast of Italy, overlooking the Adriatic sea at altitudes between 250 to 400 metres. The grapes were harvested by hand in the last two weeks of September.
WINERY
After a gentle crushing the juice was cool-fermented for about ten days, then aged in stainless steel tanks for three months before bottling.
